Due to its small size and light weight, it is extremely easy to carry (stick it in your bag, pocket, belt, pants, rack, etc), though big enough to still lock your bike to an average street sign, parking meter, or bike rack. Another advantage of this lock size too is that bike thieves are unable to pry it open – its too tough to find any empty space within the shackle.
